Why do bananas grow upward and all other fruits grow downward?

Well sadly I don't know you, but I happened to find your picture with the question this evening. I'd like to venture a guess. Most plants grow towards the sun... I imagine that is the main reason why bananas grow upwards. As for other fruits their stems or whatever attaches them are not strong enough to allow the fruit to grow up. Also I imagine since it is a tropical plant it has adapted the strong stems/stalks to allow the plant to catch/gather water. Just my thoughts ... they may seem crazy.
